Through a combination of online and onsite research, I am able to help build a family tree. The family tree helps prove relationships among different generations. In depth research allows me to reconstruct the life of an ancestor. As an example, I may identify their occupation, religious affiliation, and community involvement. I also enjoy bringing family alive by placing them within their historical context.
Although I am particularly experienced with Indiana research, I can take on a project manager role when non-Indiana ancestors are involved. I can perform all necessary online research and then coordinate with national and international genealogists for onsite work.
If your family research hits brick walls, I can organize research, analyze findings, and determine the next steps.
Clients are provided with a source-cited research report that documents what resources were used, analyzes findings, and provides suggestions for further research. It also includes copies of any documents obtained a family tree, when appropriate. If desired, a source-cited timeline can also be created, telling the story of an ancestor’s life.
CONSULTATIONS
I can provide consultations for those interested in performing their own research but in need of a little guidance. The first hour is always free.
RECORD RETRIEVAL
I am available to retrieve documents such as obituaries, city directory entries, wills, military or legal records, and other items from state and local repositories.
